Back in the Saddle again...lol

I have no photos to show but I have been back into the couponing world. July marked the last of Ub's unemployment checks and with no income what so ever we needed to do something and I knew what I had to do. First I am doing classes for scrapbooking and card making again. Second COUPONING!!! I am not an extreme couponer at all but I try to get things for my family that they can use and I spend little to no money on.

I went to Wal Mart today and here is what I bought

4 battery operated toothbrushes, they were priced at $5.97 and I had a 4 $10.00 from 10/16 P&G insert. That meant I made a profit of $16.12 that I could use towards my groceries.

4 cologate complete toothpaste used 4 $2.00 (the coupon did not exclude trial size, so I bought trial for .97cents) making $4.12 profit to use on groceries

13 trial size Tide and used several kinds of coupons to make these all .47cents each (who doesn't want to do a load of laundry for only .47cents.

3 old spice trial size body wash .97cents each I had 3 $1.00 off coupons (no size restriction) so .09 cent profit

2 aquafresh extreme clean .97cents used 2 $1.00 off coupons, again no size restrictions so a .04 cents profit was made.

Then went on to grocery shop for things we needed at home (staples like, bread, milk, cheese, eggs and dinner stuff) my total was $71.46 after all my coupons I spent out of pocket (OOP) $17.08. That is the best I have done at Wal Mart before. Couponing really does pay off!!!

Then we went on to Walgreens

they had 12 in DiGirono pizzas 2/10 with their ad, in the walgreens booklet (located in the front of the store) there was a coupon for $1.00 off 2 and then to sweeten the deal I liked Digirono on facebook and got 2 $2.00 off coupons I printed off my computer SO two pizzas for $5.00 is such a great deal.

They are also offering chinet plates (10 count) 2 for $3.00 and I went onto the chinet website and got 2 $1.00 coupons. So I go 2 pkgs for .50 cents each

Also on the front of the ad was a special candy deal $1.99 for fun size candy bags and I had somehow printed 2 coupons for $1.00 the candy, making them .99cents each.

THE BEST DEAL EVER!!!

Large Huggies wipes (216 count) $4.99 Buy 2 $9.98 but there is an infant booklett and if you can't find it the cashiers know the code and if not here it is #5519 that will give you $4.00 the grand total. Now to make it even sweeter the SS10/23 has a coupon for .75cents off wipes. if you have 2 of those coupons it makes your total price $4.48 that make them $2.24 each for a big bag of wipes. I just got my grandson 2 of those wipes (you can never have enough)

My total at Walgreens, was $52.00 but my out of pocket expense was only $14. and some change. I had an awesome couponing day.

Why do I ever stop when I save so much.....

I will start keeping my blog going with scrapbook pages and some other fun stuff. I am planning to do some recipes and photograph what I made as well as my coupon hauls. My son is going to help me make youtube videos of my projects and my coupon hauls. I also have some other fun things I want to do for instance some cool challenges, weather it be cooking or crafting or just random tips. Be on the lookout for some new changes in my blog.

NEXT time I promise to take pictures of my haul.

I'm a GRANDMA!!!!

Aiden was born on Sept 21, 2011. He weighed 7 lbs 6 oz and was 21 inches long. Jillian was induced starting at 6 am and had some really hard labor until later in the day when she finally dilated to 4 and got her epidural. They continued with the pitocin and the baby didn't do well on it at all. Finally by 11:15 that night they decided that the baby was not handling the pit so well and she had only dilated to a 5 that it would be best for the baby and Jillian to do a c-section. They wheeled her out of the room at 11:25 pm and by 11:40 Aiden was born and healthy BEAUTIFUL baby boy. He is his grandma's pride and joy. I love this little guy more then words can describe. He will be a week old tomorrow(Wednesday) and he is so perfect. He looks alot like his moms side of the family but tonight while his grandpa was holding him and he was sound asleep he had a look just like his daddy's. He may have those Hispanic features but he has his daddy's face(although his eyes look just like Jeremy and Zachary's).

Thank you all for letting me gush about our precious gift. Aiden is going to bring so much joy into our family. He already has.

Coupon Haul

I had taken a break from couponing for awhile but this week at Walgreens was just to good a week to let pass without trying to get the good deals. Now normally CVS is my store of choice but they are pretty boring this week as far as deals go. I did ALOT of transactions for everything I got here but I went early in the morning with my hubby(who helped me organize and sort my transactions)AND we went to the cosmetics line where most people(at least in my area) don't know you can check out.
So Ub and I started with ONE $10.00 roll of quarters and no other money except the change in my hubby's pocket(thank goodness he isn't like me, I hate change and give mine all away) Here we go in what I spent and let me say that my sister now works fro Walgreens and because she lives with us I get to use her employee discount card (Nice right!!!)

I started my shopping trip with a $2.00 RR (free money from Walgreens when you buy certain products) from the day before. Nivea body wash was on sale for $5.99 and I had a $2.00 coupon so I was out of pocket(OOP) $3.99 but got a $2.00RR back (RR's are like free money you can use on anything in the store)

So I can't find my receipts to give breakdowns BUT everything I got above(including the 8x10 photo) would have cost me $51.83 but because of the employee discount, Register Rewards, and my coupons my out of pocket was only (drum roll please...lol) $10.58 That might be the best shopping trip I ever did and the really great thing about this is I got another $6.00 in RR's to use next week or on something else, like another proglide razor and all I will pay is tax.

It's such a terrible photo of my page but I can't get my hands to stop shaking when I try to photograph my pages. This was for the Scrap Your A** Off challenge at Paper Secrets and so far I am still in it. The next sketch has me really stumped but then again so did this one.

This is for Jared's album, he graduated June 13th and we are so proud of him. The next page I do will be for Zachary's graduation so I can keep it fair...lol

I have other pages to post but they are for Jillian's pregnancy album and she doesn't want to see them until her shower SO since she looks at my blog on occasion I can't post the pages until after July 8th.

Challenge # 6 at Got ink Girlz and Grad pictures

Zachary graduated June 8th 2011 from Odyssey Charter school and we are so proud of him. School has always been a struggle for Zachary and when he came up credit deficient last year I thought he would just chuck school and not try any more. He came to me and said he wanted his diploma but didn't want to be embarrassed by having to go back to his high school so we looked up an alternative way of achieving his diploma. He worked hard and got to graduate this year.

Jared graduated June 13th 2011 from Western High school. 4 years of hard work and dedication for this moment paid off for him. He got the ropes for being a loyal dedicated cadet in the ROTC program for all 4 years of his high school years. He loved the ROTC program and really bloomed under Lt. Col. Coode and Sargent J.

I am so proud of both boys for sticking with it even when time were very tough. I love you both so much.

This card was done for the Big Shot challenge over at gotinkoirlz blog. We would really love some feedback or leave a us a comment if you hop over and check us out. At Stampin Up we have alot of dies that are sold exclusively through Stampin Up and the Beautiful Wings embosslit is one of them. I love that you get 5 varied sizes of butterflies all embossed with their own design, it makes glittering them so easy. I'm not a huge fan of butterflies but I LOVE this die cut. The other thing Stampin Up sells is embossing folders, yes you can get them at craft stores but the Stampin Up folders are just a little bit larger AND the design goes to the edge where as the craft store folders don't go all the way to the edge. So when you are making a standard cards base our folders will the design to the very edge of your paper.

Entry #1 and #2 at Paper Secrets

I joined a challenge over at Paper Secrets called Scrap Your A** Off (SYAO) and we are now into week 3 and so far I have done what I need to to stay in the challenge. It's really easy but for me who scraps so slow most of the time, it's been a challenge and I'm loving it.

The fun part is only you can get yourself booted off. All you have to do is complete the sketch assigned and the twist and get your page uploaded and you're in but if you don't get your page done then you are out of the challenge. We go until there is only one person left.

So here are my two pages I've done and the 3rd one is done and waiting for me to journal on it but it looks like I move on to round 4 since my page for this week is basically done.

Challenge #5 at Got ink Girlz is up

I am the one who posts all the cards over at gotinkgirlz and I had fallen behind so I have been asked to post 2 challenges over there this week. Click on the the link above and check out all the other fun cards and projects the others have made. They are some really talented ladies.

Here is the sketch we worked with for this weeks challenge

Here is my card for this challenge

The card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and I used Cherry Cobbler( #119685 $6.95 for 24 sheets of CS) as the CS. I stamped the navy log from the stamp set The Open Sea(Item #123032 Clear $18.95)found in the new summer mini (LOVE THIS SET) in Cherry Cobbler ink( #119669 $5.95) to give it the tone on tone look. I punched a circle using our 1 3/4 circle punch(Item #119850 $15.95)I ran a strip of Crumb Cake cs (#120953 $6.95 for 24 sheets)5 1/2 x 3/4, I distressed the edges with my scissors and brown ink, each piecs of patterned paper was cut at a different size in length but the width is 1 11/16, the patterned paper (DSP-Designer series paper) was called Nautical Expedition (#122343 $10.95 for 12 double sided papers)this is also found in the new summer mini catalog and is for a limited time. I water colored the ship using aqua painters (#103954 $16.95 for 2) and black Staz on ink (#101406 $7.95)I used Marina mist (#119668 $5.95) for the sky, Not Quite Navy for the ocean(#103008 $5.95, Night of Navy(#102977 $5.95) for the ships shadow, and soft suede ink(#115657 $5.95) for the ship and sails and the tiny flag I used a touch of cherry cobbler. I finished it off with a bit of Baker's twine(#123125 $2.95) found in the new mini for a limited time. I used a navy blue button from our old retired buttons collection so any button will work.

The white CS I watercolored the ship on was a scrap that I glued to the inside of the card the size is 2 7/8 x 2 1/8.

I didn't add a sentiment but it would work as a great masculine birthday card, or thank you card or a Father's day card. Guy cards are sometimes so hard to come up with, this new set is wonderful for a manly card. There are alot of guy oriented stamps in this new summer mini, I hope you check them out.

It's May Flowers over at the Gotinkgirlz blog. Here is my card featuring the fun dies cut that we carry at Stampin Up called Fun flowers. It is carrying over to the new catalog that comes out in July (SOOOOO excited for that)

Here is my card, it's a standard size card, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, chocolate chip CS is 4 3/16 x 3, the vanilla 2 7/8 x 2 1/2, the DSP is 4 3/16 x 1 inch. Everything is inked in Early espresso and the ribbon is our Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon that will be carried over in the new catalog as well. The last little touch is the rhinestone center. I stamped the sentiment in Early espresso using the Just Because set in clear, I used a punched oval and the punched scallop oval. Hope you enjoy.

It's official, it's broken...

Well Steven officially broke his foot while at Laser Quest last Friday night. He is in a non weight baring cast for 6 weeks to 3 months. The bone he broke should really have a pin in it but the will try it casted first for 4 weeks and see if it will heal ok, if not we (or he, Steven) will be off to surgery to get a pin in the side of his foot. He's a trooper but the crutches are his biggest pain. They just are tall enough for his 6'3" frame. Poor guy.

Laser Quest fun...except for one

Jeremy picked this year where his and Jared's b-day was going to be and he picked Laser Quest. Jared turned 18 and Jeremy turned 16. What a fun place that is, very noisy but so much fun. Great place to hold a b-day party for a bunch of teens. Poor Steven was our only casualty, on the first round he hurt his foot and couldn't walk on it much so for the next round he had to sit it out. No fun for him but he did get a gift certificate for 2 free rounds when he can go again.

I am trying out some new things on my blog

So I have been a bad blogger of late. I mean really no post since November 25th, how terrible. Well I am going to try and change that.

One of the new changes is the tabs on the top under my header, it's labeled workshops and classes. I only have January listed for right now but I will do some thinking on my classes for next month and get them posted. I want to add tabs labeled kits, the kits will be pages that you can purchase and put together with a photo of the page as well as any other instructions. I also want to start learning how to video some 3d projects, pages, and cards, so there will (eventually) be a tab labeled videos.

I have joined a picture a day challenge in the year 2011 and except for one brain freeze I have managed to do one photo a day. The other thing I have decided to do as a resolution is leave my house and go to one crop a month. I am so excited that this weekend I get to go to a 3 day crop. I am teaching a Card Party on Feb 11th if anyone is interested please let me know. I will have to get times from the lady who is hosting it. The cost is $14.00 for 12 cards and she providing snacks and drinks.

In the year 2011 I have joined yet another motivation challenge to get more pages done. One of my good friends set a goal for 800 pages in 2010 and she met her goal. I won't be able to hold a candle to her and what she accomplished but it certainly motivated me to make my own scrapbooking goal. SO for 2011 I have set a goal to scrapbook 211 pages (I took out the zero in 2011 and that's how I came up with 211...I'm a dork I know)

Anyway, with that I will have more pages to put up on my blog and some random photos of my daily photo challenge(only those I find funny enough to post. I will also get my demonstrator website up and going this month and if you would like to place orders you will be able to.

I have some pages to share

I actaully made these way back in March but I never had page closure. Either I was missing a pic because I was to lazy to print it(oops I mean my printer was out of ink...yea that's it) or I just needed some quiet to think of journaling and in a house with 10 people, quiet isn't something you can come by easily. So I know none of these pages are Stampin Up, they are pages I had either done at a class and needed to add pics to or stuff from my huge stash. It is so fun to go through pages that need pictures or use up older papers and stickers, it makes it seem like buying it or creating it wasn't a waste of money or space.

If you click on the pages it should bring them up a little larger. I miss my old scanner, in that it scanned perfectly and my new one makes better quality photos but the scan doesn't work as well. So pardon the pages not being as clear as they used to but I am now taking pics of them and I just don't like it as well. I guess I can't have it all right...lol

Demolay Halloween Ball

Oasis Chapter of Demolay put on this amazing dance last night. The decorations are just wonderfully spooky and I love their graveyard. Everyone had a tombstone including Ub. I will have to upload the tombstones later. Mitch will be 12 on Wed the 3rd and can join Demolay so this was his second function and he had a ball. Josh ran the lights and had wired up the sound for them as well as danced with the girls in hopes of getting the other boys to ask girls to dance (which they did not...uggg) Jared at the end scared everyone out of the ballroom with a chainsaw skit with a real chainsaw. Talk about clearing out a room he even scared Mitch to death...lol...it was a priceless moment and I think all that attended had a great time. I took lots of pics but only put a few up to show off what a good job they did.

Decor pumpkins, spooky frame and cute deco blocks

I got crafty yesterday. I have been sick and these projects have been sitting neglected. I wanted them all done before Halloween and I did all but one. Maybe today I can crank out my haunted house, we'll see.
The pumpkins we saw at convention and I fell in love with them. I bought the white pumpkins at Michaels. The "trick or treat" is our decor elements Spooky Things (#122296) and the Black Flourish (#120987) and raven lace ribbon (#120988) This was super easy and took 20 minutes to make.

The Frame was a standard frame I bought at Walmart for $3.00 and using that same sheet of decor elements (#12296) I put the Happy Halloween on the glass and then used our Nite Owls designer series paper, DSP for short (#123012) and the Dark & Dreary stamp set(#121151) for the owl and spiders and the BaroqueMotifs (#113490), the colors I used were Pear Pizazz and Pumpkin pie as well as basic black. also a really quick project to do...less then 30 minutes

Last but not least, the cute little decor blocks(#116829), I used the Nite Owl DSP (#123012) and sponged the edges in basic black ink, "BOO" was made using Serif Essentials alphas die(#113464) and they were spritzed with silver foil Smooch spritz (#118771) on the B and the spiders I used our new rhinestones(#119246) the spiders were stamped from Dark & Dreary(#121151) and I used our circles punches. On the last block the 2-3/8 scallop punch(#118874) was used to punch a scrap of black CS, then punch a white CS scrap with the 1-3/4 circle punch (#119850) then emboss with the square lattice folder(#119976), the "2U" is cut using the Timeless Type die cut (#115951) in pumpkin pie.
The really fun thing about these blocks is that I have 5 other sides I can decorate for the different holidays. For Thanksgiving I have "Give Thanks" mostly done and as soon as I turn them I will get them loaded here. A little more time consuming but that's because there are 6 sides to decorate. Really fun!!!

Trunk or Treat

Trunk or treat was so much fun last night. This is most likely Mitchell's last year getting to participate in trunk or treat because he will be one of the young men who will help out all the little kids(I'm not even teary eyed as I write this...YET...ha ha ha) The church always does the best trunk or treat. I went to a Stampin Up regionals back in Sept and I just haven't had the umph to post anything to my blog lately. Anyway I made this card to swap with other demonstrators and I submitted this card to SU to be voted on. It was one of 3 winners... I decided it was time to get some crafty stuff back on my blog, that it was way past time. This is a mixture of Stampin Up stuff and some regular scrappy stuff. I need to start using more of my stash and get the endless pile of paper in my books and off the shelf. I also have a TON of premade pages from swaps and stamp clubs and classes that are calling for some pictures to be added to them.

The Halloween pages are of Mitchell, my only kid trick or treating this year. Yes I did cry...my babies are all going in different directions. Even Mitch noticed and missed the others.

The Christmas page is of one of my older sons Steven, he is usually gone and never in our tree decorating pics. He doesn't really get into like he did when he was little. I was lucky to get these pics AND he's smiling. Such a handsome guy.

There is nothing better then the release of new products (at least to me) and this new holiday mini from Stampin Up is amazing. Just when I think they can't get any better they do and I am LOVING everything. I will be putting this in my sidebar and when you click on it you will be able to see all the new fun things they have inside.

One thing I LOVE is the new spider wed embossing folder. I know Cuddle Bug has had one but Stampin Ups embossing folders are larger( they still fit in the Cuddle Bug, I have one) and the designs go all the way to the ends which is a huge plus. If you are a Halloween nut like I am then be sure to see the beginning of the catalog, starting on page 6, because they have a crazy cute set that I got a week ago. As a demonstrator we get to order a month earlier and we get an amazing discount.

In the back of the catalog there are these new Letter Press plates that I ordered last night (being a convention attendee we got a special deal) I can't wait until they come and I can play around with them and see what they are all about. My son has told me he would help me do a video so be on the lookout for that and I will feature the new letterpress plates on a project.

I do not have my demo website hooked up but please if anyone sees something they really want then by all means leave me a note here and it only takes seconds to activate it. What not to wear to school!!!

I guess these shirts are a no no. I know all about juggalos (I don't have a clue how to spell it...lol) and I know that as a parent I hate the music that ICP sings but I will not dictate what they can and cannot listen to because I know from my own experience it will only make them more drawn to it. (I was a rebellious kid that way. My dad said no I did it anyway and was sneaky about it. I know I don't want my kids sneaking). Anywho, I bought these shirts for the boys and even though I don't like them myself I know they LOVE the way the shirts look. Now I know we do not want our kids associated with any gang related anything but I have raised 2 very smart young men and they have had to witness certain things in our own house that has been an eye opener to them as far as drugs and gangs go BUT having said that I was a little shocked they couldn't wear these shirts with this band to school. They said it prompts gang activity, what a crock!!! If kids are going to join a gang it won't be because they wore these shirts but because the parents don't have better control and I put myself in that category as well, with one of my older sons, he taught me that if a teenagers mouth is open what is coming out of it is generally a lie. (quote from Judge Judy...lol...but so true)

I respect the school rules and my kids will respect the rules as well and I even understand how much apart of our society gangs are, but I have a hand in everything these two do and where they are and I feel confident that I have done my parenting job well and when we got these shirts they were in no way intended it to be any association with the juggalos. Lesson learned in what isn't allowed in school. I will still buy these t-shirts but now they are to be worn at home only.

I have another SENIOR this year oh my... Jared was so ready for this day to begin. He walked around all day yesterday bored and ready for school to start. He actually smiled in my picture this day. His shoes were a fight but in the end I lost Jared won. It's not that I don't love Etnies it's just that they are so colorfully ugly...hee hee hee. I have actually made up to them and he is quite proud of his shoes. I had to get pictures of the shoes again just to show how their tastes change from year to year. This should be a fun and exciting year for Jared and we look forward to a graduation at the end of this year.

It's hard to believe my curly( his hair before hair cuts was so curly BUT for ROTC he has to have short hair) is in high school let alone a sophomore. He is posing with Jared in this picture (which means for Jareds post you will see 2 of these same pics) He is a ladies man this boy. He has more girls calling then I can keep up with. Today was exciting because it's the first day of school but Jeremy had an extra spring in his step cause he was going to meet up with Diana a girl he liked when he was in middle school and now they will be at the same school together. He can stop growing now too. He is getting so tall and as broad as some of his older brothers. I hope this year will be a fun one for him. He wants to join the bowling team and I can't wait. Hopefully he will do something in the spring too. Next year it will be football but this year he missed out. They all have their own sense of style and it cracks me up but one thing they both like is ICP (don't groan as loud as I did) I can't stand the group either but hey it's what in and they truly don't listen as much as they would like other to believe they do...lol...cats outta the bag now huh...have a great day.

5th Grade!!! Where did time go...

I can't believe the day has come and I get my computer to myself again...lol...we had a great summer this year and I am sad to see my kids go back to school but alas it had to happen right. Progress my mom says even though I wish progress would slow way down or I would have another baby...lol....my mother would die if she read that, huh Sherron. Have no fear I have no plans on having more kids although this is the time of year I develop baby fever.

So on with back to school. Mitch started 5th grade this year. My baby's last year of elementary school and it isn't sitting well with me...lol..as I tear up typing this. I think he looks so cute even in his terrible uniform but that is another story you don't want my 2cents on...SOOOOO not HAPPPPPY!!!

Mitch got his rolling backpack and some cool shoes and of course he had his brand new lunch box I bought from www.easylunchboxes.com (there is a video on the site that Mitch has memorized...LOL) he was so taken with this lunch system and I have vowed to go a bit green this year and here in this little lunch box is where I begin.

Target was such a good shopping day. Let me tell you a secret, if there is a $1.00 off coupon on any item and there is no size restriction you can use that coupon to buy the travel size.

I got 15 travel tides for free. I had 15 $1.00 off coupons and I used all 15. I get 15 loads of laundry for FREE.

The Green Works detergent was $9.99
I used (1) $3.00 target coupon and (1) $3.00 manufacturer coupon.
I got a 90 oz detergent for $3.99, it smells good too!

I got another bag of Wonka candy $3.49

I am such an extremist in my personality, I have learned to embrace myself and live with it...LOL....can't say my hubby or the kids know how to deal with me but hey they will someday learn that you can't fight a Gemini and my addictions...lol. So onto this weeks addiction. I found a coupon site that I had to order from called Buy Grocery Coupons I got the package of 40 inserts, 10 P&G (love that one) 10 red plum #1, 10 red plum #2 and 10 Smart Source. Now you may think this sounds extreme but on all the couponing sites I go to they say you should buy 1 newspaper for everyone that lives in your house. Well at $3.00 a pop who could afford that, for 40 coupon inserts it only cost $16.00 and I have already used so many coupons from those inserts and saved more then what it cost to buy them....You can order in whatever quantities you like but for me the big package was what I needed to start building my stockpile.

I went to Target early on Saturday morning armed with my coupons and here is what I scored.

Talk about good times!!!! I did 21 pages at a weekend back in March but I am slow in getting them loaded...LOL...SO 1 down 20 more to go...ha ha ha. My pictures may be out of order bare with me. We stopped at a gas station in Filmore Utah and there was the most amazing rainbow, being a past Rainbow Girl I had to get a photo of the rainbow, then we have the three of us taking pictures with some of the cute props at convention, and the last thing was one of our lunches we were treated to a chocolate fountain bar. I have never had this before and I LOVED IT!!! You name it they had it for you to dip, I tried my first chocolate covered cinnamon gummy bear. My dear friend Mary Lynn loved it, me not so much. I have more pictures of some of the swaps I was in while at convention and soon I will load those up too. Bye for now

Halloween classes to be scheduled in Sept.

Brent Steel did this demo at convention and let me tell you in person it is spactacular!!! I wish the photos I took of it could do it justice but this will hve to do for now.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love to decorate for Halloween. I have a sofa table that this will look fabulous on. So onto the classes

The first class I will offer will be mid September and will feature the wayyyy cute spooky house. It is glittery and lit up and adorable and the added touch is the bats flying out of the chimney. Just wait until you see it. I will have more details on the class, complete with times, cost and what you will need to bring. I had the time of my life and have many photos to share. Here are just a few of the make n takes we got to do during one of our classes. The one with the heart was probably my least favorite and that's just because of the colors they used for it. I like the simple design of it. The green pouch with the brown striped ribbon would be really cute made into a Halloween treat with candy on the inside. I have a whole calendar planned with I learned from convention. I am so excited t get my business back on it's feet.

In 2 short days I will be on my way to Salt Lake City to a Stampin Up convention and can I tell ya I am EXCITED...I can't sleep, I have butterflies. I am THAT excited. I can't wait to go and be creative. I have for the last 2 weeks been making over 100 swaps for convention therefore scrapbooking and any other crafty, coupony kind of things have been put on a back burner.

Be on the lookout for the last week in July as I will have plenty to show you and I will start getting a class schedule up for anyone who is interested in coming or getting kits. Mother's day and Bridal card

I made only one of these cards but I had to show off the card with the big flower. This card was made by my 17 year old for Mother's Day and he gave it to me. He made 2 more for some friends mother's but I didn't think about getting a pic of them. He did such an amazing job shading and glittering. He has always been my creative one. He would scrapbook and everything.

The tag was on alot of the bottles but I only took 1 bottle that had the tag on it. It isn't pictured because I took it off and filled it out and got it into the mail before it dawned on me to take a pic of it...LOL...CVS has a few different brands that have try me tags on them. You buy it send in the tag and receipt and you get your full cost back, Renpro (may not have the name right) is another one like that.

Rimmel make up has a mascara that has a "try me" tag on it. I didn't get it because I know I have a coupon which will make this a money maker for me. Josh was in a concert the other night at The Farm the band he was in was headlining. It was really fun and I am always so thrilled to watch him play. He really is a very talented musician and that's not just his mother talking...LOL...it's the truth! They got to play 3 songs and he got to do a solo by himself. It was alot of fun to see. He was right I did like the music. I don't often LOVE his music (some stuff I really like) some not so much but this music the singer didn't scream into the mic, which is always a plus. Now the band before was a screaming kind of band and lucky for us we came in on the last song...LOL...Josh we loved the concert and can't wait to see more.

I so wish we had a store that double coupons ALL the time in the Las Vegas area (not every 3 months or so).

Shopping is so much more fun now that I have discovered couponing. I love saving on name brands. My hubby and kids are really on board with this too. I had to make a quick run into Albertsons one morning a to get their chicken breats that were on sale but I found the meat department isn't open at 6:55 AM...lol...so I browsed for a bit and found these 7th Generation dishwashing packets on clearance for $1.99 I knew I had 2 coupons for a $1.00 at home as well as 3 double coupons still at home. I ran home and got my coupons and went back and got all four boxes of dish washing detergent packets for $1.00. While I was home I saw another coupon for Finish dish detergent on clearance for $2.75. I had a coupon for $1.00 off and I double it so I got that Finish detergent for .75cents

I scored these dog treats at Petsmart for Free. They were $1.97 and I had 2 coupons for $2.00 off. I through in that little chew bone that was on sale for .49 cents. I have been able to score 8 of these dog treat for FREE, LOVE that!!

I promise I will post my pages this week. I have been so addicted to coupon surfing and coupon blogs that my pages and cards haven't had my attention. Scouts honor I will get my pages loaded.

It's not that I haven' wanted to blog but I have kind of undertaken a new hobby that has become a new obsession, it's couponing! A friend of mine has been doing it for awhile and I used to think I couldn't be bothered but then I decided to get my feet wet and try out a few deals and as of today. I have a stockpile, FINALLY. I am so in LOVVVVE with this new paper pack from Stampin Up. It's called Sending Love and it's in the new Occasions mini catalog. One side of this paper is glittery and the other side is just printed. They have such gorgeous papers in this pack and I wanted to make a card to show both sides of my fav sheet of paper in the pack. The brown with flowers isn't glittered and the vanilla with the presents card is with glitter. I wish I could get a better pic of it because the paper is amazing. I also want to show the new Pinking Hearts border punch and the new epoxy brads, so stinkin cute!!!

I am so bad about getting cards done. I love doing them but seem overwhelmed by the small space. Silly I know! Today my friend and upline came over and she worked on cards for her stamp club and I have a blog idea I am going to start next week and it's using this cute CUTE paper.

The paper can be purchased from the new mini and is called Sending Love and the stamp set is from the Sale-a-bration catalog called Happy Moments and you can get this set for free by placing a $50.00 order from the idea book or the mini. I will have more projects using this FABULOUS paper next week. I almost forgot the embossed dots are also a folder we now sell featured in the mini catalog.

Page #3 for the Scrapfit crop

I got another page finished for the crop over at Scrapfit. We had to have bling and something with wings on the page. Can you believe I didn't use Stampin Up for this page. Ok maybe the cardstock is Stampin Up but that's it. I have such a hard time using other supplies now but for 2010 I made a resolution that I would try once a month to use old stash and get it used on my pages. It's not that I don't other products but I am partial to Stampin Up these days. It isn't even because I sell it. It's because I love how the guess work of matching stuff is taken away from me. I love that the cardstock matches our patterned paper packs perfectly and then to top that off it matches our inks too. Anywho, this page and the pictures I just love of Mitch and my mom. That is his best buddy and friend in the world. I love the bond they share. It's such a special relationship.

1 Hour Sketch Challenge

Over at Scrapfit forums they ran a 1 hour sketch challenge and being the pokey scrapper I am I didn't get it in on time. That's ok because I had a fun time doing it. I discovered I take a bunch of pictures but not always in a vertical position so to find a grouping of photos that fit this sketch I had to go with Halloween. For me that is fine because I LOVE Halloween and so do my kiddos.

To do this page I used the paper from Stampin Ups idea book and catalog called Cast A Spell, it's filled with lots of great images perfect for scrapbooking spooky pictures. I also used the Loads of Letter chipboard alpha that are also found in the idea book and catalog. I sponged the letters with black but you couldn't see them so I dauber them with craft white and kept applying the craft white ink until I had the desired effect. The font I used for "2009" and the "One scary dead girl!" I got from the internet called Chiller.

Winter Wonderland online crop

I joined a super fun site called Scrapfit workout blog. They are holding a weekend online crop with some fun challenges to try out. The challenge this page was done for was the Holiday card challenge. Katie challenged us to use those photo Christmas cards on a page and use some of the regular card as embellishments. I did have a lot of room for embellishments so I used a frame that held one of those pics and I cut it up and used it as an accent. I used one sticker and one piece of cardstock but everything else was from the cards our family received this year. I LOVED this challenge because every year I never know what to do with those pictures but I hate things to just hang around the house. Well Katie has helped me with how I am going to use them every year.

Twice a month a Scrapfit they have a workout challenge (no you don't have to actually workout) where they give you a challenge to work on for 2 weeks. They are so much fun and they give great ides and the Design Team is so very talented. Hope on over to their forums and join in the crop this weekend. There is a great grand prize up for grabs.

Altered recipe book

Well I finally got my recipe book scanned and I opened the book up to my first recipe page. I have to get familiar with my new scanner but for now this is the book. It is an 8.5 x 8.5 chipboard album that Stampin Up carries. I love this size and might actually do a couple of mini albums using this size. At a Stampin Up convention (which I have never gotten to go to) they had a really cute idea using these albums. The idea is a yours (devoted to my hubby), mine (devoted to me), us (devoted to my hubby and myself) and them(devoted to the kids) albums. I want to fill them with tons of stories about my childhood and my hubby's then when and how we met and what we did before we had kids, and last but not least a book of all my fav pics of my kiddos and the fun we have had as a family through the years. Some of my kids need a reminder...lol

I know this book doesn't actually look the size I stated but I have to figure out my new scanner software and stitch. I have to wait for my oldest to wake up and help me out...LOL... I plan on making each kid their own cookbook and for Christmas I did one for my sister and my cousin (which their covers aren't completely done yet but Thursday I will complete them.

I forgot to add that the album was covered in paper that is retired from Stampin Up as well as the ribbon found on this book. The flowers are from Stamipn Up pretties kit and they come in white but are so easy to add color to. I used a sponge dauber and an ink pad. Super easy and the kit has TONS of flowers in it. The recipe page is also using Stampin Up products and I did this page is a class.

Happy New Year everyone

Hi everyone

I hope you all had a great holiday season. We had less stress this year which is weird because we had way less money. Hubby is moving up on the list at the union and should finally go back out to work this month (keep your fingers crossed for us). It's been a long road but somehow we have survived, we also learned the importance of what a savings would have done for us this past 5 months since he has been out of work. The kids had a great Christmas still and I learned to look at those sell papers on Sunday and not pay full price for any of what I bought. Imagine that, not paying full price AND I wasn't out on the 24th shopping like a mad women...LOL

I hope your New Years was a safe and fun one. Did you make any resolutions? I know I did and this year I hope to keep most of them. Last year I made realistic goals but to many this year I scaled it down a bit.

SCRAPPY RESOLUTIONS:

1. Use up some of my stash at least once a month. Drag out all those bags of purchases I have made over the years and use it and STOP the hoarding...LOL
2. BLOG MORE...
3. organize my stash ( 30 minutes a week on this project)
4. do at least 1 page and 1 card weekly
5. get my kids recipe books going again

FINANCIAL RESOLUTIONS:

1. start a Christmas Club at my moms bank for next year (I never knew they had this. You add money to it and you can't touch it until November...LOVE IT)
2. pay my bills on time and stop paying late fees.
3. get my business running to help contribute to the household. ( I need to take my Stampin Up business more seriously and not so much as a hobby or a source to get cardstock cheaper...lol)

PERSONAL RESOLUTIONS:

1. lose 5 pounds, and when that 5 pounds is gone set my goal for another 5 pounds
2. get moving

I think these resolutions are all doable and now I just need to get to them. Take care everyone and the next post I have will be a page or a card.

I am finally able to upload a page again and my computer is back and running better. I love kids that know about technology!!! If it wasn't for my 2 boys I would be here without a computer and I'm sure I would be going mad...LOL...I also got a page done and with the month or more that I have had lately it is truly amazing. I am still feeling scrappy and may actually produce more this week.

This is my oldest and youngest out of my 7 kiddos. This was taken when Josh (who is turning 21 in a few days) was in the 8th grade and was really into skateboarding and music and well Mitch he is and was into anything with wheels. I love finding pictures of days gone by. I miss my younger kids. Halloween this year was sad, birthdays are happy yet sad and I truly miss having young kids under foot. Can you have kids at 44 and not be looked at funny...LOL...I miss when anything and everything was exciting to them....awww well they grow up and I guess parents are never ready. Come on grand kids...hee hee hee

I have been MIA for quite sometime and I have missed blogging. I usually don't put down depressing things in my blog but I have had one heck of a 6 weeks. First, my second oldest son who suffers from severe depression, bi polar and a psychosis has had a really tough summer and therefore has made our families summer equally as rough. I have called 911 on him 5 times since May for many reasons, mainly because he gets very violent. One month ago he took a knife to his arm and he was once again hospitalized and then 2 days ago he swallowed a mouthful of his meds (or so we thought) he is not in a good way and I am faced with many decision concerning him and my families safety. I love him dearly but the stress we live under is more then I can handle and I believe I have to make a very hard call and send him to a group home. I do this with a very heavy heart but I just can't handle anymore of the outburst and fearing for my own life or worrying he will take his.

Needless to say my creativety has all but left me and I wish I could somehow get it back. I did so a page awhile back but my scanner wouldn't work and then my computer crashed. Now my computer is working again so I will try to reload my scanner and see if I can finally get my page up. Believe it or not I didn't use Stampin Up on my page...LOL..

Anyway I just wanted you all to know that life just got very crazy and I am still around.

Las Vegas Stake Annual Picnic

Every year our stake holds an annual picnic out at the church ball field. The kids have always had a good time playing games and eating lots of great food. For the past couple of years brother Chuck has been making dutch oven cobblers and you can always find Ub, Zachary, and Jeremy there to help him. As you can see Ub has found a very inventive way to mix the cake mixes, A POWER TOOL with a whisk attached...LOL.....aren't men funny what they come up with. This year Zachary invited his new girlfriend Bellaand we were so glad she could make it. I had a great time getting to know her mom, Susan...such an easy name to remember...LOL.

I still haven't been able to figure out my scanner issues but I did manage to take a pic of my page so we'll see how it looks later.

My Team won...Go Team 3

I joined a super fun challenge at Scrapwhisper back in June/July and it ran for 8 weeks. The owner of Scrapwhispers blog send out a page to all the team captains and they have one week to lift that page and send it to the next player. We only get to see the page of the player before us and we go from there. It's like the old game we used to play when we were little called "Telephone" at the end the team that had the most fluid progression and kept close the the original design wins and out team won. New sign up are going on right now if anyone wants to sign up and play.

This page is a page done of one of my older boys he turned 19 and I just cannot believe how fast time went. I feel this way about all my kids really. I love milestones but do we have to reach them so quickly...LOL...in 2 months he will be 20 and Josh will be 21 and I feel like I'm to young to have a 21 and 20 year old already. I'm sure all parents feel this same way.

SCS Halloween ATC swap

I decided to join an ATC swap over at www.splitcoaststampers.com. My hubby's job

This is what my husband has been working on for the last 2 years. I knew it was high (obviously) but I guess I never really guessed at the enormity of this bridge. We went last week to a closure party. They celbrated getting the last piece of that bad boy done. That little box thing in the middle of the bridge is where ther men are all still working. After the party he took us all out to see it and it is truly an amzing thing to see. The Hoover Dam is an amazingly awesome site but add this fly over bridge and all you can do is say WOW. I was never afraid of what my hubby does until I saw this and now I say a prayer each day he leaves. I now don't complain when he asks what are you makin me for breakfast or when he leaves his laundry upstairs intsead of bringing it down for me. He talks about being harnessed and hanging 900 ft in the air but I don't think I really absorded this until I saw it. I will never again roll my eyes or mumble under my breath that he could make is own darn breakfast. I need to be thankful he comes home everyday in one piece and that I get to stay home and raise our kids. I appreciate what this man does to support his family and the other men and women that share this same job as Ub (my hubby's nickname).

If you click on the picture you can see it really good. One last thing, I don't believe I will ever cross this bridge EVER...lol...all those cables have to go so I ask "what will hold up that arch and the highway once those cables are gone" the answer NOTHING!!!! Nope never riding over that bridge.

I never get my swaps done on time and I am usually sorry because everything I WOULD have gotten back is so darn cute. Well this time I did get them done. We had to make 9 pages and 10 cards. The page is done but I want to get pictures on it before I upload it here. Here is my card and I didn't lift/case it from anyone...LOL...so unusual for me. Cards are just not my thing but I do love making them. My upline holds her own swap of just her downline girls at convention and they were nice enough to let me join even though I don't get to go to convention. Uggg, I am in a picture and in my bathing suit no less...I tried to hide behind my hubby...LOL....didn't work. Oh well, I am never in any pictures and I did say I really need to get over my weight and get in front of the camera BUT did it have to be when I was swimming and my hair is all blah...This is another page for Mitchell that sat in my to finsih box and again the only thing missing was journaling and it really did take me 10 months to get journaling on this page...I am the worst. I have this wild hair to finish all those unfinished pages. Tonight I have more pages to add to Mitchell's book and I believe I need a new book for him. I am lovin looking at all the done pages in each kids books.

I can't believe I have actually scrapbooked like this. This is so not like me to complete a page, with journaling. The page may get done but the journaling could take me a year or more. No LIE!!!! Another stamp club page. My friend Mary Lynn has been selling Stampin Up for years where I have only been doing it seriously this past year. She has had her club going strong for about 3 years, maybe more (MARY LYNN correct me if I'm wrong) anywho, I collect all of her pages...lol...not use them like normal people but COLLECT them. Not any more, I am now using them up and my books are looking fuller. It's amazing.

Living in Las Vegas has some serious draw backs, ok maybe one MAJOOOOOR draw back and that is our heat...I HATE IT!!! I am a recluse the minute June hits and it turn 100 anything outside. This was a fun year though because we used our tax money and bought a pool. we had so much fun in this pool but we had to threaten Mitch and Zachary to get out of the pool. If they could have they would have stayed in there morning noon and night.

This is such a typical thing for Josh. He will climb all over Steven like he is his personal jungle gym. Sometimes Steven won't even know Josh's is coming and before he knows it Josh is on his back. Sometimes this is ok with Steven (most of the time it's ok) and sometimes I'm sure Steven would like to drop him on his butt...LOL....Either way they end up horsing around and having a good time. Josh, in these pictures, now has blonde hair. we never know week to week what he will look like next and I wish I could say at age 20 he is finally outgrowing this stage but I cannot. He is now once again sporting a new mohawk. If I wasn't so ticked I would take a new pic of it but mom here is less then happy with adult son...LOL...he is a free spirit and I have never tried to clip his wings but some of his styles just kill me. Love him to death and he has never caused me much grief, thankfully!!!

I have discovered that I rarely put other people on my kids pages. I do pages for all of the kids and I don't make a family album. I found that I never put the rest of the family on a page for the kids or very many pictures of their brothers and sister. I have got to redo this habit I have formed and start including pics of everyone on their pages. Shame on me huh. This page is for Steven on Thanksgiving and I made sure that I included lots of family and siblings photos.

I am so lovin using lot of pics on a page. I don't know why I got away from doing it this way. I love looking at all the family and hopefully the kids will too.

Back to school....this year found me with a 3rd grader, 8th grader, 10th grader and an 11th grader. Jillian would have been a Senior but she graduated early last year as she only needed 4 credits to graduate so she did it a year early. These pictures are of Zachary and Jared (my only high schoolers) on their way out the door to school. I always take a back pack picture if they get new backpacks. Their personalities are reflected in the design of their backpack. Jared is in the ROTC and loves all armed forces, or he wants to be a chef. I got a chance to sneak a couple pictures of him crossing the street to the school. If he knew I was going to do that I'm sure he would have opted to walk...LOL....

I did these pages for my own club. They were based off a page I got from a QVC Hall of Fame pack I got that said "Family" I adapted it to a Back to School page. So glad Jared could dress to match my page...LOL

Ok so on page 2 I went just a little overboard...LOL....(a little HA!!!) I had all these pictures of the evening and all we did and I really didn't want to make another page for just a couple photos. I have come a long way from scrapping just one photo. I don't mind all the pics but I do wish some of the flag could have been seen...LOL...At least I know there is a flag under all those pictures. This page is for Zachary's book. He is one that doesn't like to be in to many pictures and he rarely smiles so to scrap him isn't always easy.

For Mary Lynn's stamp club at the end of the year she does a mystery hostess class and we have the chance to get all the hostess benefits by completing the pages we have done through the year. I wish that I was better at keeping up but I like the pressure of cramming all 12 pages into one weekend...LOL....I am not that bad but pretty darn close. Be prepared to see lots more Stampin Up pages as I have until tomorrow at ten to complete the rest to even try to beat our good friend Debbie who is by far the better of any of us at keeping up with the pages. I think I have 3 done out of 12. Getting there...ha ha ha.

This is my youngest son Mitchell doing his Valentine boxes I made for his class. He wasn't as into the creating of the boxes as he was in filling them but he was a trooper helping me out none the less. Jeremy even got in on the action of filling them up. I felt bad for Jeremy, he loves to do this kind of thing and now he is older and he doesn't get to do this anymore for his classmates. Mitch and I were only too happy to have his help.

Truth be told I like that I am not caught up on my scrapbooking. I think that would so depress me. In this industry there is so many new fun things to use and try that if I didn't have baby pics, Christmas, or even Halloween to scrapbook I would be heartbroken...LOL...so maybe not that bad but close. I hope to never catch up because I love all things scrapbooking. On to Joshua's page. I belong to a stamp club and every month we do a page WELLLLL I am not so good at getting pictures on those pages but I really need to be. So I have been adding pics to my uncompleted pages and I really like how they are turning out. This is my oldest son Josh trimming the tree. TALK ABOUT A HAIR PULLING EXPERIENCE!!! hee hee hee, I realize the appeal that trimming the tree held for them at 4, or 8, or even 10 just isn't there at age 20 but come on humor your picture taking, scrapbooking mother, AM I RIGHT!!! Actually Josh is one of mine that will do it but he is usually the last one and I only ever get like 2 pictures. This year he actually stayed and did maybe 8, be still my heart....LOL....He and Jillian and of course the younger kiddos were my troopers and I love them for it. Steven and Zachary, I love too but they have other interests and tree trimming isn't among them. One day they will again and they will remember the Christmas carols playing, the cookies that were freshly baked, and the hot chocolate that was waiting to be drunk when the tree was complete and we could sit back and admire the tree and the lights. When they have kids my holiday traditions I have made special for them will come rushing back and they too will fall in love with decorating the tree once again. I sure hope so. This page was part of a 2 page layout but I wasn't a big 2 page person. I used page 1 of this layout for a page with my daughter and now that I do 2 pagers more I still had this page left over. I rummaged around and found some pictures of Jared. The title is a perfect fit to the year 2007, the day before the 4th he was released from the hospital where he had spent 8 month getting counseling and treatment for his anger. He was one happy young man on this 4th of July and was relishing in his newfound freedom.

This is a page I just completed for a challenge on scrapbook.com. It is for the round robin challenge but I can't upload it there yet. I figured not to many people look at my blog so I can post it here. Also, Josh just thought me how to use paint and put my 2 pager side by side and I am loving it.

One more thing, I know you all have seen these picture before BUT I have 7 kids and I don't do a family album. I do individual albums for my kids. This is our extended family and I haven't done any pages in the kids album of them. I grew up with them in the same house. They may be my cousins but we were raised together and were more like brother and sisters with my Aunt as my second mother. We are still very close and I want my kids to have pages in their books about them.

and it didn't snow....LOL....I take way to long on one page and way over analyze pages but I am trying to be better about NOT doing this and just having fun with this hobby. I have forgotten how fun it is and how every page doesn't have to be ready for publication, which I haven't been published EVER....I have won contests but I haven't ever wanted to publish anything. Maybe it's laziness or just that I don't care. Oh well my blog and my scrapbooking site I love is all the publishing I need. The top 4 pages were done at a class I went to from Close to My Heart and were workshops on the go and we got to do 3 double page spreads but one of my layouts is missing because I had to pick up a kiddo from school. It was a great class. The bottom page was done using Stampin Up products and my friend was making this into a card and I happened to say it would make a cute summer page with those colors and the next thing I know we were making a page. I LOVE this craft. Well I will stop my rambling for now and thanks for the love and stopping by.

Well this is the last of the scrapbooking marathon I was on, actually it's not but the last of my pages need some last minute fixing but then I will be totally done with all I have created. This is for Jared's book and it was our trip we took to Reno back in 2005, when we took Jillian to see her boyfriend Alex who spends the summer with his dad there. We had gone to see a movie and when we left the theater there were these fountains and it was a hot day for Reno so the kids had a blast running through these fountains. What a fun way to kill a couple of hours and a great opp for me to get some fun pictures of times when they aren't fighting and are getting along...LOL...believe me those time are very rare.

My dear friend miss Jennifer Wellborn if you can help figure out how I can get my pages to go side by side I would love your helpful tips...LOL....This is Zachary at the same snow trip you have seen over and over. It is sooooo rare to get this kid to smile for a picture that the big pic on page 1 is one I plan on printing and blowing up to put on my picture wall. I am not sure why my boys are so against smiling but it is really aggravating. We had such a fun time on this trip and I really want to do it again. With Ub's schedule it's so hard to do much as a family but I am just thankful he is blessed to have a job. One day we will get back to the snow and when we do I hope that ALL our kids are with us. We went on this trip on Feb 2007 and 2 of our kiddos were in the hospital and didn't get to go.

This is my Aunt and her kids and grand kids. My sister and I was raised in the same house with my Aunt and her four kids and so she is more like my second mother and they were more like my brother and sisters. One of her kids moved to Colorado and so pictures of all of them together are hard to come by. I haven't done pages of my extended family and I realize that I need to for my kids books so beware all of these pictures will be seen again 7 times over so that each kid will have some family picture in each of their books.

I have been shrinking in my scrapbooking duties for awhile and I think I got some of my mojo back but we'll see. I am one of those typical Geminis that kind of go through various stages of things. Like say reading, when I am in the mood to read I will whip out 2 to 3 books a week and I will read nonstop and then I won't pick up a book at all for awhile. Well the same can be said for my scrapbooking obsession. So as you can see I am on a scrapbooking kick...LOL

This cute guy is my son Jeremy and we got a chance to go with friends from our church on a snow trip. Most of my kids haven't gotten to sled or anything EVER but when you live in the desert you don't get a lot of opportunities for sledding and snowball fights.

I am seriously not that computer literate and never claimed to be, which brings me to my problem. I sell Stampin Up and I can't access my catologs or anything else. My computer keeps popping up wiht a error saying I need Adobe acrobat reader 8 or 9. I went onto Adobe and tried to find a download and thought I had downloaded it ok but I try to click on the new mini and view what's in the book and I still get this error.

Jennifer Welborn, I need your expert opinion here...LOL....HELP ME....Jenn has been a friend of mine for many years, then she up and left me and moved to Arkansas. She has always been very computer savvy as well as an amazing scrapbooker. Her oldest son and my son were really good friends. Anywho, Jennifer or anyone else who reads this blog who might have a site I can go to that is trusted and can help me out I would love it. I have a Red Ridinghood ink pad up for grabs if you can help me.

Red Ridinghood is one of Stampin Ups new In Color pads that is soon to be leaving our catolog. I have one that is brand spanking new and would love if someone can help me.

This is Mitchell he is ten and he was diagnoised with Autism when he was 6. It was a shock to all of us and I was in complete and total denial. My sweet baby boy couldn't possibly be autistic but as the IEP meeting wore on and his teacher produced a booklet he had kept on Mitch from the first day of meeting him, my eyes were opened wide. He kept this book he called "Mitchellisms" and this book wasn't to show me I was wrong it was to show me just how unique Mitch was compared with some of his other classmates. It explained his inability to cope with substitute teachers and why he would run and hide when he had one, or why he lined up his cars in a very straight line up, or make loud noises, or think he was an animal, as well as other things he would do that I couldn't figure out why. He is the sweetest most lovable little guy you will ever get to meet and this year he is coping well with change and social situations.

I logged onto Thecutestblogontheblock to change my blog background and this background was the first one up and of course I had to use it. I want to thank the people at thecutestblogontheblock for designing a background like this and the super cute all true blinkie I used in my sidebar. That blinkie is just so perfect for my son Mitch. He makes life so fun and very interesting. I will add I am blessed in the fact he is high functioning and not so severely autistic but I have friends with a son with severe autism and he too is such a sweetheart and to know that they will forever be one of Gods children, totally perfect in our Heavenly Fathers eyes and mine.

I finally did a challenge on scrapbook.com. I am really good at signing up for them but not so good with actually getting them completed. It's kind of like my scrap supplies, I am an expert at collecting and hoarding but soooo not good at using any of the stuff I buy. Anyway this page was lifted from Dyluvs2scrap ( click on the link to see her page) I have been having a great time doing photo collages and did one for these four pictures. Shutterfly.com is where I got my collage from and it was free. My daughter Jillian and son Zachary turned 18 and 17 this year and it scares me how fast they are growing up. I fianlly did a page for my hubby. I don't seem to do any pages for the two of us, my pages are mostly of our kids. This was a page kit that I was given at a crop I went to last week. I really liked it and how it turned out and can you believe it it isn't Stampin Up related. It's rare these days I do anything that isn't Stampin Up. I have to say that I mostly use their stuff because I totally hate matching up papers to cardstock and then having not match because my lighting was bad. With SU products there isn't the frustrating guess work. I believe this paper line is from Scenic Route paper company but I am not 100% sure. My hubby, who is serious most of the time can be a total goofball when it comes to getting his picture taken. So I turned his goofy pictures into a page for him. I can't believe I have done six pages!!! For any and all that know me well, I'm lucky when I get 1 page done in 6 weeks...LOL...I just couldn't get into my groove. I can tell you what really helps is Stampin Up...Their products that match everything so well make it so much easier for me to get things done. I think that's what makes me the most crazy with scrapbooking is I don't want to guess if what I am using matches. Stampin Up is so great for me that way, all the guess work is done on matching paper to cardstock. Anywho, this is my daughter Jillian who I can't believe turned 18 this year. Seems like yesterday I brought her home from the hospital. Where does time go.

Scraptahlon Week #5 page

This page was for week #5 on the scraptathlon challenge on scrapbook.com. We had to have a picture of motion and we had to come up with a Haiku, which I didn't even know what a Haiku was until this week. I came in first with this page on the neighborhood votes and the judges votes. I have come close but never taken first place until this week. I work on my pages for days and this page I did in about 30 minutes and I came in first. Maybe that is the key for me...LOL...This is my son Jeremy on one of our trips to Rosarito, Mexico...we love the beach and I love getting pictures of the kids at the beach. I can and have taken hundreds of pictures of them here...LOL....

Week #4 Scraptathlon page

This weeks challenge was to scrap about a positive change and it had to have something about President Obama on the page. It could be like my page and have pics or it could be some of his AWESOME speeches and quotes. It didn't have to be about him but I had wanted to do a page about his election and the excitment of that election night. Then I went online and found some pictures of him and that was that...there was one pic I found of Bush and Laura in Air Force one flying away from the White House with the Obamas and Bidens waving good bye on the White House steps...and I was going to talk about the positives in just that one picture...LOL...but decided I wanted votes...hee hee hee....Which by the way I came in second from the neighborhood vote and I don't know where I placed with the judges...We also had to make the page in purple whcih was the true challenge for me as I really dislike this color...ALOT!!.

I'm so excited for kick off. I was raised in Las Vegas but my household has been Steeler fans from the time I could understand what football was. I am making all kinds of fun food and getting my camera charged and ready. Every year my boys go to a Demolay party but this year we are all staying here for the game. I can get some great pictures....lol...watch I will either be to caught up in the game and not take any OR my kids will not cooperate, to which I will beat them...LOL...my whole house is buzzing. Jared can't wait to see what we make this year. GO STEELERS!!
